Our goal with the CHOICES campaign is to highlight that you can choose in life: you can choose healthy relationships over unhealthy relationships; you can choose to take care of your physical and emotional needs; you can choose to be optimistic; and you can choose to be kind. We highlight the role of our choices through the CHOICES posters loan program, Daily Vidette articles, bulletin boards, and requested workshops known as Relaxation Stations, which focus on time and stress management. We invite students and student groups to get involved in these programs and explore the power of choice!
"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time."
- Thomas Merton
The CHOICES campaign would like to offer you the opportunity to display one or several of our CHOICES posters in your office throughout the year. Through a check-out system, CHOICES posters can be displayed throughout the Illinois State campus in a variety of offices and campus locations. By displaying these posters, you are able to send an important message to students about your support and care for them and their well-being. The posters are loaned out for 30 days at a time, at no charge to your office. We simply ask that you display the poster, and return it to our office in good condition by the due date. You can find all of our available posters, as well as the “Poster Check-Out Form & User Agreement” and more information about the CHOICES Poster Check-Out program by clicking here.

Young adults face many new pressures when they go away to college. Dealing with new situations can be a major source of stress. It is important to take time for yourself and find ways to manage stress in a healthy, positive way.
Relaxation Stations provide a safe environment to explore the topics of stress and time management, which are well –known areas of concern for young adults in the college setting. Relaxation Stations provide information and resources to help students who are dealing with these difficult issues as well as to help prevent students from becoming further stressed.
Relaxation Stations are designed to help the millennial generation students learn how to successfully navigate through their college experience by providing them with useful information and solid coping strategies that they can utilize long after the Relaxation Station is over. In addition, students will also be able to participate in fun, hands-on art activities that are designed to be vehicles to facilitate a discussion on the requested topic to further promote relaxation.
Relaxation Stations can be planned for student groups or residence hall areas at the request of any student leader or resident assistant. To obtain a Relaxation Station information packet and request form, click here. Please allow us 2 to 3 weeks to fill your request!
“Values that we fail to reflect in our behavior are ultimately empty. To be meaningful, a value must influence the choices that we make in our everyday lives.”
- Jim Loehr & Tony Schwartz
We make hundreds, if not thousands, of choices every day and most of these choices are made largely outside of our consciousness. So, what guides our more conscious decisions? How do we decide what to do Friday night? How do we decide how to organize our schedule? To answer these questions, it can be helpful to identify and explore our values. By understanding what we care most about, we are able to become more mindful in our decision-making processes and make the choices that we really want to make. There are also the positive, intrinsic rewards that result from incorporating these values into our daily life. This Values Webshop is specifically created to hope you explore your values.
