Student Health Service

Student Health Service can provide the following services to assault survivors:

  • Treatment of any injuries sustained
  • Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Emergency contraception: Note: emergency contraceptive pills are most effective if taken within 72 hours of intercourse.
  • Follow up services (repeat STI testing, etc.)

Contact the Student Health Services Appointment line at 438-2778 to schedule an appointment. The $5.00 front door fee will be waived for services relating to a sexual assault. However, you may incur charges for laboratory tests and medications.

Medical providers at Student Health Service are required by law to contact the police when they provide services to a victim of a crime. However, no identifying information is provided to the police, and you may decline to talk with a police officer.

After-hour care:

For urgent or emergency medical care

For Emergency Contraception:

Emergency Contraception is now available without a prescription at many local pharmacies and at the Student Health Service Pharmacy. It is most effective if taken within the first 72 hours, but may prevent a pregnancy if used up to 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected sex.
