If you or a friend are a victim of relationship violence, get help! Things can change and no one deserves to be hurt. If you think a friend is being abused:

  • Listen to what your friend has to say, let your friend know you care.
  • Let them know you are concerned, be specific. Talk about incidents you have observed and not the relationship in general.
  • Offer to get more information. Let your friend know these situations generally do not get better by themselves.
  • Be patient, most people leave several times before they are able to separate permanently.
  • Get help from resources in the community, do not attempt to deal with this by yourself.
