Mission

The Student Counseling Services assists students with personal, academic and career-related concerns by providing counseling, outreach and consultation services, helping students be more successful in life.

Vision

The Student Counseling Services will be a highly visible, well-regarded, multidisciplinary team that is an integral part of the Illinois State University community, assisting students with personal problems and concerns, and helping them reach their full potential.

Values

Creativity: The SCS values creativity as a gateway to innovation at both the individual and organizational levels. We support and encourage creative innovation to foster excellence, to enhance inclusiveness, and to provide dynamic services that are relevant to student needs.

Healthy Organizational Climate: Staff of the SCS commit themselves to sustaining a healthy organizational climate characterized by honest, direct and respectful communication and appropriate conflict resolution. We manifest compassion, mutual trust, and humor in our interactions. We support one another in our lives here and away from work.

Commitment to Excellence: The SCS endeavors to provide the highest quality of service. We adhere to the highest professional and ethical standards, engage in ongoing professional development, remain current with research and new developments related to the practice of psychology, and pursue innovation in technology.
